CARY, N.C. -- It will be the Brave against the United in the Tournament of Stars gold-medal game on Saturday afternoon.
The matchup, which will be streamed live at 12:30 p.m. ET on MLB.com and USABaseball.com (the third-place game between Pride and Free will also be broadcast live at 9:30 a.m. ET), comes as a result of the Brave's 6-0 win on Thursday morning against Free, while the United topped Pride, 8-2, in the second game of the day.

United starter Kale Davis, a right-hander from Westmoore High School in Oklahoma and an Oklahoma State commit, set the tone right out of the gate. Using a fastball that touched 92 mph and an upper-70s breaking ball, Davis tossed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out four. He also elicited five ground-ball outs.
Davis got plenty of offensive help as United's lineup notched 12 hits. Leadoff hitter Pete Crow-Armstrong (Harvard-Westlake HS, Los Angeles) had three of them, including a double. The outfielder stole a base, drove in a run and scored twice to boot.
Third baseman Derek Diamond (Ramona HS, Calif.) and shortstop Christian Cairo (Calvary Christian HS, Clearwater, Fla.) each had a pair of hits. Catcher Matt McCormick (St. Laurence HS, Burbank, Ill.), who began the game as the DH, continued to have very professional at-bats. The left-handed hitter didn't have a hit to show for it, but he hit the ball hard, drew three walks and scored twice.

Other standout performances for the day included:
Hunter Barco, LHP, The Bolles School (Jacksonville, Fla.) -- One of the better lefties in the 2019 class, Barco wasn't quite as electric as he has been in the past, but he was more than effective with four shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out two. He was largely around 92 mph with his fastball and flashed a solid changeup. His slider, around 82 mph, was inconsistent, but he did spin some good ones. Barco comes from a lower arm slot, with some scouts dreaming about a future Chris Sale type if it all comes together.

Corbin Carroll, OF, Lakeside School (Seattle) -- The speedy outfielder who has drawn Brett Butler comps continues to swing the bat well. He went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and stole a base as the Brave leadoff hitter.
Jack Leiter, RHP, Delbarton School (Morristown, N.J.) -- Al's son showed an outstanding feel for pitching over four shutout innings. The Vanderbilt commit sat at 90-92 mph, touched 93-94 and mixed in an effective slider and an even better curve ball throughout his outing, allowing just three hits and no walks while striking out four.

Alex Milazzo, C, Zachary (La.) HS -- Catchers have largely struggled defensively this week, particularly in the throwing department, though Milazzo has been an exception. His catch-and-throw skills have been solid throughout, and on Thursday, he threw out one runner trying to steal and picked off another one at third.
Max Rajcic, RHP, Orange Lutheran (Calif.) HS -- A right-hander in the class of 2020, Rajcic did give up a couple of runs, but he was up to 93 mph with his fastball and struck out five over 2 1/3 IP, thanks to a curveball that topped 3,000 rpm.

Anthony Volpe, INF, Delbarton School (Morristown, N.J.) -- A Vanderbilt commit just like his high school teammate Leiter, he actually faced Leiter in the first game. Volpe went 0-for-2 against Leiter, but he doubled in a pair of runs on a drive to deep right-center. He's been a very solid performer on both sides of the ball.
