Shaw ejected after called strike 3 vs. Lester

April 6th, 2018

MILWAUKEE -- A difficult night for the Brewers got worse when their cleanup hitter, , was ejected for arguing a called third strike after the sixth inning of Thursday's 8-0 series-opening loss to the Cubs.
Shaw was called out on a low, outside pitch from Cubs left-hander and was back in the dugout when plate umpire Brian O'Nora ejected him from the game. It was Shaw's second career ejection, both for arguing called third strikes.
His loss was a blow to a Brewers offense that managed three hits and no runs in six innings against Lester after being shut out on five hits by and the Cardinals the night before. Adding to their troubles at the plate, the Brewers saw their defenders commit three errors in each of those games.
