WASHINGTON -- The Nationals' trio of All-Stars -- Bryce Harper, Max Scherzer and Sean Doolittle -- could have another player set to join them for the Midsummer Classic next week at Nationals Park. Trea Turner is on the ballot for the 2018 Camping World MLB Final Vote for a chance to be selected to his first career All-Star team.

The campaign is on to get Turner selected to play in front of his hometown crowd. He will compete against Jesus Aguilar of the Brewers, Brandon Belt of the Giants, Matt Carpenter of the Cardinals and Player Page for Max Muncy of the Dodgers for the final spot on the National League squad.
"Looking forward to this week to hopefully get one of our other teammates in there as well," Harper said.
It's the second straight year the Nationals will have a player as part of the Final Vote, after Anthony Rendon lost his bid to Justin Turner last year.

Trea Turner earned his way onto the Final Vote by putting together a slash line of .278/.355/.419 with 11 home runs and 22 stolen bases, tied for the third most in MLB. That speed has made Turner into one of the most exciting players to watch in baseball as he has developed into one of the game's best young shortstops.
"I've said this before, but for me, he's an All-Star," Nats manager Dave Martinez said this past weekend. "So, hope he makes it."
Fans can cast votes for the final player on each league's roster -- on computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online as part of the 2018 Camping World MLB Final Vote, as well as via the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps, until Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
Then on Tuesday, July 17, while watching the 2018 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard (7:30 p.m. ET live on FOX), fans can submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2018 All-Star Game MLB.com MVP Vote.
The 89th Midsummer Classic, at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 180 countries. FOX Deportes will provide Spanish-language coverage in the United States, while ESPN Radio and ESPN Radio Deportes will provide exclusive national radio coverage of the All-Star Game. MLB Network, MLB.com and SiriusXM also will provide comprehensive All-Star Week coverage.
