MINNEAPOLIS -- Injured Twins relievers Trevor May and Tommy Milone each threw two-inning simulated games at Target Field on Tuesday, and manager Paul Molitor said both remain on track to be activated from the 15-day disabled list on Friday.
May, out since Aug. 7 with a strained lower back, and Milone, out since Aug. 12 with left biceps tendinitis, each threw 30 pitches with 15-pitch innings. Molitor watched them throw from behind the batting cage and was pleased they both felt healthy.
"The good news is they both came out fine," Molitor said. "They threw all their pitches. I wouldn't say they were overly crisp in terms of location. But it was a good sign."
May sounded more optimistic about the way it went than Milone, who said he wasn't happy with his command facing hitters for the first time since his injury. Milone sounded open to throwing another simulated game to refine his control, but said he'd be physically ready to go if the Twins want to activate him on Friday.

"It felt good," Milone said. "The pitching portion I wasn't overly comfortable with. But that takes time. The more I'm out there, the better I'll be. My arm felt good enough to get out there and throw. Now it's about command."
Molitor acknowledged the difficulty of returning without the benefit of a rehab stint with the Minor League regular season over, but said he'll make sure to get them into low-leverage situations early.
"I'll have to be careful about easing them in there," Molitor said. "You don't want to thrust them into something they're probably not prepared for. But it'll be nice to have two more arms out there. We can use them."
