Tri-Cape wins Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup

30-game tournament for top female softball players concludes with play-in and championship games at FDR Park

Tri-Cape won the 10th Annual Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup defeating Jersey Shore 6-4 in the final game of the day.

Runner's up in last year's tournament, Tri-State first had to win the play-in game, a marathon 17-14 victory over Inter-Ac. Tri-State then had a decisive 11-3 win over undefeated Jersey Shore to force the "if necessary" game.

This was Tri-Cape's first time winning the Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup, which gives top female high school softball players the chance to compete in front of college scouts.

The Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup is a four day, 30-game tournament that featured 16 teams representing 17 different leagues. All games were played at FDR Park in South Philadelphia.
