ARLINGTON -- Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki continued his hot start to the American League Division Series with two more hits on Friday afternoon in Game 2. The Blue Jays' 5-3 victory gave them a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series, which resumes with Game 3 at 7:30 p.m. ET Sunday (TBS in the U.S., Sportsnet in Canada) at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
In the second inning, Tulowitzki sent Yu Darvish's 2-0 pitch into the left-field seats to put Toronto up, 2-0. The homer, Tulowitzki's first of the postseason, had an exit velocity of 105.4 mph, according to Statcast™, and went a projected 402 feet. Darvish's pitch was a 96.2-mph fastball, which is the fastest pitch that he has been taken deep on all year.

"We all know how talented he is," Tulowitzki said. "I actually got to face him in an All-Star Game, that was my only time. So [we have] a little bit of history. He's got good stuff. You see all those strikeouts. He got behind 2-0, threw a fastball, and I put a nice swing on it. It was nice to get on top of him early, especially on the road."
"He hit the ball good," Darvish conceded.
Tulowitzki got to Darvish again in the fourth inning, singling to center field with two outs, but he was stranded at first when Michael Saunders struck out.
"I think we knew we had our hands full [with Darvish]," Tulowitzki said. "I keep on saying he's one of the best in the game. Just try to get in good counts, and honestly for me, it's just being competitive, compete. That's when I'm at my best. So I don't think about anything else really other than competing, trying to help our team win games."

Tulowitzki finished 2-for-4 in Game 2, and he's now 5-for-9 with five RBIs in the series. The veteran slugger also had a three-run triple in Thursday's 10-1 Blue Jays win in Game 1. Toronto also jumped out to an early lead in the opener with a five-run third inning.
