On Saturday, June 18, the Tampa Bay Rays will turn back the clock to the 1970s when they host the San Francisco Giants at Tropicana Field at 4:10 p.m. Vintage uniforms, a 1970s-themed poster and a postgame concert by The Fray will highlight the evening.
For the fifth straight year, the Rays will wear a retro-style uniform from the 1970s that celebrates the style of the era while keeping the Rays modern colors. The Rays have won three straight games and hold an overall record of 3-1 when wearing these uniforms. In addition, the Giants will wear their 1978 road uniforms.
The Rays are offering a special ticket package of $19.76 for four tickets in the tbt* Party Deck as part of the 1970s theme night. Tickets for this special event are available online at raysbaseball.com/turnback, the Tropicana Field Box Office or by calling 888-FAN-RAYS. In addition to this ticket special, concession prices will roll back for a day, including $2 popcorn, peanuts and Pepsi fountain drinks.
When gates open, the first 10,000 fans will receive a 1970s-themed poster. In addition, there will be vintage music and themed entertainment throughout the concourse prior to and during the game.
Immediately following the conclusion of the game, the rock band The Fray will take the stage as the first postgame concert of the season. Rays Postgame Concerts are free with the purchase of that game's ticket. Field access wristbands are available for purchase at raysbaseball.com/concerts.
Retro gear is available for purchase at the Tropicana Field team store, which has authentic fitted hats from New Era, jerseys from Majestic and more. Rays jerseys will be auctioned online starting on June 20, with the profits benefiting the Rays Baseball Foundation. For more information on the auction, visit raysbaseball.com/auction.
The Rays will celebrate "Turn Back the Clock Night" for the 14th time at Tropicana Field. They are 8-5 all-time in "Turn Back the Clock" games held at Tropicana Field.
