Twins announce single-game tickets go on sale to the general public on Feb. 16

New Five-Tier Variable Pricing Applies February 16-22; Demand-Based Pricing Starts February 23

The Minnesota Twins today announced that single-game tickets for the 2013 season at Target Field go on sale to the general public at noon CST on Saturday, Feb. 16 via www.twinsbaseball.com, by calling 612-33-TWINS (612-338-9467), 800-33-TWINS (800-338-9467), or in-person at the Target Field Ticket Office. Tickets go on sale at Twins Pro Shops located in Apple Valley, Roseville and Minnetonka starting Monday, Feb. 18.

“We are looking forward to a successful 2013 season and are encouraged by the more than nine million fans who came through the Target Field turnstiles during the past three seasons,” said Twins President Dave St. Peter. “The 2013 schedule is extremely attractive and we are anticipating another season of high demand games.”

As in previous seasons, the Twins will apply variable pricing to all tickets for the 2013 season. Per-game prices for both single-game and season tickets will be expanded from three tiers to five tiers and will be based on factors such as time of year, date and opponent. The new five-tier variable pricing structure will apply to all single-game tickets sold from Feb. 16-22.

Beginning Feb. 23, the Twins will apply demand-based pricing to all seating sections of Target Field for the 2013 season. Demand-based pricing, which prices tickets according to fan demand, is a practice that has become standard across the sports and entertainment industries. The system, which was implemented at Target Field in 2011, applies only to single-game ticket sales and does not affect Season Ticket Holder pricing.

The Twins will mark their season opener with a home game at Target Field on Monday, April 1 with a game against the American League Champion Detroit Tigers. The Twins will then play two more games against the Tigers on April 3 and April 4.

Other home schedule highlights include a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox (May 17-19) and a four-game series against the New York Yankees (July 1-4).

Interleague play has been expanded for the 2013 season to include additional games, which will be played starting in April. The team’s 20-game interleague schedule includes visits by the New York Mets (April 12-14), the Miami Marlins (April 22 and 23), the Milwaukee Brewers (May 29 and 30) and the Philadelphia Phillies (June 11-13).

The Twins will also face the Houston Astros, who will join the American League Western Division in 2013, for three home games (August 2-4).

The Twins will close out the 2013 season at Target Field with a seven-game homestand against the Detroit Tigers (Sept. 23-25) and the Cleveland Indians (Sept. 26-29).

Through three seasons at Target Field, the Twins have attracted a total of 9,168,101 fans (an average of 37,729 per game).
