Twins option seven players; reassign nine to minor league camp

Ft. Myers, FL - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned left-handed pitchers Logan Darnell, Edgar Ibarra and Brooks Raley and right-handed pitcher Trevor May to Triple-A Rochester. First baseman Kennys Vargas has been optioned to Double-A New Britain. Infielder Jorge Polanco and outfielder Max Kepler have been optioned to Single-A Ft. Myers.

Additionally, they have reassigned the following players to minor league camp: right-handers Alex Meyer, Lester Oliveros and Yohan Pino; catchers Kyle Knudson, Matt Koch and Stuart Turner; outfielders Byron Buxton and Chris Rahl and infielder Miguel Sano.

The Twins now have 48 players in camp: 22 pitchers (5 non-roster), 5 catchers (1 non-roster), 12 infielders (5 non-roster) and 9 outfielders (4 non-roster).
