The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly to Triple-A Rochester. Pressly appeared in 22 games for the Twins this season, going 1-2 with a 9.50 ERA (18.0 IP, 19 ER), five home runs allowed and 23 strikeouts.
Additionally, they have designated left-handed pitcher Jason Wheeler for release or assignment. Wheeler made his Major League debut on Tuesday night and appeared in two games for the Twins.
To replace Pressly and Wheeler on the 25-man roster, the Twins will make corresponding moves prior to tomorrow night's game in Anaheim.
