Twins place Nolasco on disabled list

May Recalled From Triple-A Rochester

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Ricky Nolasco on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation (retro to 4/9).

To replace Nolasco on the 25-man roster, the Twins heave recalled right-handed pitcher Trevor May from Triple-A Rochester. May went 0-1 with a 4.22 ERA (10.2 IP, 5 ER), two walks and nine strikeouts in three games (2 starts) this spring before being optioned to Triple-A Rochester. The 25-year-old appeared in 10 games (9 starts) for the Twins last season, going 3-6 with a 7.88 ERA (45.2 IP, 40 ER), 22 walks and 44 strikeouts.

May will start the Twins Home Opener, Monday, April 13 vs. Kansas City.
