Twins place Pavano on 15-day disabled list

Blackburn reinstated from rehab assignment and activated from D.L.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Carl Pavano on the 15-day disabled list with right anterior capsular strain.

To replace Pavano on the 25-man roster, the Twins will reinstate right-handed pitcher Nick Blackburn from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester. In one start for the Red Wings, Blackburn allowed four runs on four hits, with three walks and two strikeouts in 3.2 innings. His second rehab start was postponed due to rain, after he allowed one run on two hits, with one walk in 2.1 innings.

Blackburn is scheduled to start for the Twins on Wednesday at Kansas City.
