Meyer has second straight 11-K night in Triple-A

Right-hander Alex Meyer, the Twins' No. 3 prospect and No. 26 overall, struck out 11 batters Monday for the second game in a row and earned his first Triple-A win as Rochester defeated Charlotte, 1-0.

The 11 strikeouts matched Meyer's career high, which he has now reached three times. He walked three batters and allowed two hits in six innings.

In Meyer's last two starts, he has struck out 22 batters in 12 2/3 scoreless innings. That stretch has lowered his ERA from 5.14 to 2.70. In 26 2/3 innings this season, he has struck out 35 batters and walked 11.

Rochester scored the game's only run in the third inning. Danny Santana, the Twins' No. 10 prospect, reached base on a bunt single, stole second and eventually came around to score on Chris Parmelee's double. Santana finished the night 1-for-4 and is hitting .268 with four stolen bases this season.
