Twins reinstate Hicks from disabled list and select Parmelee

Kenny Wilson designated for assignment

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated outfielder Aaron Hicks from the 7-day disabled list. Hicks suffered the injury in game two of the split doubleheader with Los Angeles-NL on May 1, after crashing into the center-field wall in the sixth inning.

Additionally, the Twins have selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Chris Parmelee from Triple-A Rochester. Parmelee hit .305 (36-for-118) with seven doubles, seven home runs and 23 RBI in 32 games with the Red Wings.

Both Hicks and Parmelee are expected to be in uniform for tonight's game in Detroit.

To make room for Parmelee on the 40-man roster, the Twins have designated Double-A outfielder Kenny Wilson for assignment. Wilson was claimed off waivers from Toronto on April 24.
