Twins return Plouffe from rehab assignment and reinstate him from the disabled list

Twins Option Infielder Nishioka To Triple-A

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned infielder Trevor Plouffe from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester and reinstated him from the disabled list.  Plouffe, who missed 21 games, was placed on the disabled list with a bruised right thumb on July 27 (retroactive to July 21) and appeared in two games with the Red Wings while on rehab assignment.

To make room for Plouffe on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka to Triple-A Rochester. Nishioka, who was recalled on August 5, appeared in three games for the Twins.
