Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Alan Busenitz from Triple-A Rochester.
Busenitz, 26, posted a record of 2-0 with a 2.15 ERA (29.1 IP, 7 ER), nine walks and 32 strikeouts in 19 relief appearances for the Red Wings this season. He was acquired via trade with Los Angeles-AL last season along with pitcher Hector Santiago, in exchange for pitchers Ricky Nolasco and Alex Meyer. Busenitz, who is looking to make his major league debut, will be in uniform for tonight's game against Cleveland, wearing number 67.
To make room for Busenitz on the 25-man roster, the Twins have designated left-handed pitcher Adam Wilk for release or assignment. Wilk made three appearances (1 start) for the Twins, allowing nine runs (8 earned) on 16 hits in 10.2 innings.
