Twins select contract of Shane Robinson

Ft. Myers, FL - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of outfielder Shane Robinson. In 17 games this spring, Robinson has hit .283 (13-for-46) with four doubles, two RBI, five runs scored and four walks. The 30-year-old was signed by the Twins as a minor league free agent December 5, 2014 after playing nine professional seasons in St. Louis' organization.

He was originally drafted by the Cardinals in fifth round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft and has a career batting average of .231 (93-for-402) with 12 doubles, five home runs, 37 RBI and 46 runs scored in parts of five seasons with St. Louis.

The Twins now have 40 players on their 40-man roster.
