Twins sign left-handed pitcher Rafael Perez to a minor league contract
Perez will receive an invitation to Major League camp
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have signed left-handed pitcher Rafael Perez to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training. Perez will report to camp on Saturday.
The 30-year old Perez made just eight appearances last season due to left-shoulder issues and eventually had surgery in September. He went 1-0, 3.52 ERA (7.2 IP, 3 ER) with four walks and four strikeouts in 2012 with Cleveland.
Perez has posted a 3.64 ERA (329. 0 IP, 133 ER) over 338 career relief appearances all with the Indians.
The Twins will now have 67 players in camp, including 35 pitchers.
