Twins take PR prep shortstop Molina in 11th round

With their 11th-round pick, No. 320 overall, the Twins selected high school shortstop Nelson Molina.

Molina, 18, is ranked as the No. 5 prospect from Puerto Rico by Baseball America.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder from Arecibo, P.R., bats left-handed. He has above-average speed and is steady defensively, possessing a good arm.

"He's got a nice body," scouting director Deron Johnson said. "We think he's a true shortstop and we think he's got a nice left-handed swing."
