TORONTO -- The future is starting to look brighter for shortstop Richard Urena and right-hander Sean Reid-Foley -- both Blue Jays prospects have cracked MLBPipeline.com's midseason Top 100 Prospects list.
Urena and Reid-Foley were not ranked in the top 100 prior to Spring Training, but they have since landed a spot on the list. Urena is Toronto's top-ranked prospect at No. 91, while Reid-Foley is close behind at 93.
Outfielder Anthony Alford made the preseason list at No. 42, but he fell out of the top 100 after an injury-plagued first half of the year. Alford is still ranked third overall on the Blue Jays' Top 30 Prospects list.
Urena, 20, turned some heads in the spring when he held his own in big league camp. He showed impressive range and maturity in the field, and he followed that up with a strong offensive performance for Class A Advanced Dunedin. Through 92 games this season, Urena is batting .292 with 32 extra-base hits and a .773 OPS.
Reid-Foley began the year in Class A Lansing, but he was promoted to Dunedin in early June, and he has been even better at the next level. He has a 2.03 ERA in eight starts, while striking out 59 batters in 48 2/3 innings.

Alford is considered to be a five-tool talent, but he has suffered two injuries this season. He was injured sliding into home during Dunedin's first game of the year, and he missed the next month of the season. In June, Alford collided with Urena on a shallow fly to center. He has since returned, and he is playing everyday, but overall, he is hitting .217 with a .318 on-base percentage in 62 games.

Right-hander Jonathan Harris and third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. held onto their No. 4 and No. 5 preseason rankings. Righty T.J. Zeuch, Toronto's first-round pick from the 2016 Draft, is ranked sixth, and first baseman Rowdy Tellez moved up one spot to No. 7. Righty Conner Greene, righty Justin Maese and the recently drafted Bo Bichette round out the top 10.
The ranking of baseball's top prospects is done by MLBPipeline.com Draft and prospect experts Jonathan Mayo, Jim Callis and Mike Rosenbaum, who compile input from industry sources, including scouts and scouting directors. It is based on analysis of players' skill sets, upsides, proximity to the Majors and potential immediate impact to their teams. Only players with rookie status are eligible for the list. The rankings follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement guidelines for which players fall under the international pool money rules: Players who were at least 23 years old when they signed and played in leagues deemed to be professional (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Cuba) are not eligible.
