MILWAUKEE -- In what continues to be one of the feel-good stories of the first week of the baseball season, Astros rookie first baseman Tyler White went 3-for-4 with a double and a three-run homer in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Brewers at Miller Park, smashing more records along the way.
White, a 33rd-round draft pick in 2013, has set a franchise record with nine hits in his first four career games, becoming the fourth player since 2000 to collect nine or more hits in his first four games (Ian Desmond, Josmil Pinto and Junior Lake), breaking Ken Caminiti's mark of seven set in 1987. He also tied a franchise record with seven RBIs in his first four games.
"It's impressive," manager A.J. Hinch said. "The quality of at-bats are becoming customary. We're expecting it. It's fun to see him. I'm glad he's getting off to this kind of start. He's earned every bit of this exposure."

In four games, White is hitting .692 (9-for-13) with two doubles, two homers and a team-high seven RBIs. He drove in four runs Thursday in a loss to the Yankees, including his first career homer. He shot a three-run homer to right field in the ninth inning Friday after hitting a double in the second and beating out an infield hit in the fifth.
"Just seeing pitches and trying to put good swings on strikes," White said. "Just trying to stick with my approach and just having a good time out there."
White admitted he was nervous in his first career at-bat Tuesday at Yankee Stadium -- a single -- but he hasn't looked overwhelmed at the plate or anxious.
"It's baseball; it's a game," he said. "It's the game I've been playing since Little League, and I have to kind of settle in and get yourself going, and I mean, a strike zone is the same strike zone. The game's the game. That's what I'm trying to look at it as, and just going up there and stick with my approach and having a good time playing the game."
