Umpire Miller exits after taking pitch to mask
OAKLAND -- Home-plate umpire Bill Miller exited Wednesday's series finale between the host A's and Angels with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, having taking a fastball to his mask earlier in the game that may have influenced a pair of premature strike three calls.

Miller remained in the game but labored after he was hit, as he rung up Oakland's Brandon Inge and Cliff Pennington with just two strikes in back-to-back innings.
Second-base umpire Dan Iassonga replaced Miller behind the plate.
