Upcoming Homestand to Feature Picnic in the Park and Faith and Family Night

The Astros return home after an eight game, 10-day road trip to host the former NL Central rival Cincinnati Reds (June 17-19) and current AL West rival LA Angels of Anaheim (June 20-22). This homestand features several fan-favorite events, including Picnic In The Park, Faith and Family Night and Star Wars™ Night.

Friday, June 17 is Star Wars™ Night at the ballpark! Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Star Wars™ characters and cheer on the Astros as they kick off the series vs. the former NL rival Cincinnati Reds. <o:p>

Fans who purchase a Star Wars™ Night ticket package also receive a Jedi Council Triple Bobblehead featuring Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and Dallas Keuchel. This promotional item is not a gate giveaway, but rather is only available with the special Star Wars™ Night ticket package. Ticket packages are limited, but are still available for as low as $32, and $5 of each ticket will benefit Stand Up to Cancer. <o:p>

The Big and Bright Friday Night fireworks show will also feature a Star Wars™ musical theme. Fireworks will begin approximately 15 minutes following the conclusion of Friday's 7:10 p.m. game vs. the Reds.<o:p>

Astros RHP Scott Feldman will be hosting 30 veterans from The Wounded Warrior Project on Friday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 21 as part of the Feldman's Heroes program. Feldman hosts veterans from The Wounded Warrior Project to Astros games at the ballpark twice a month. <o:p>

Earlier in the day on Friday, June 17, Astros IF/OF Tony Kemp, OF Colby Rasmus, LHP Tony Sipp and third base coach Gary Pettis will pay a visit to the Astros Urban Youth Academy, located at 2801 S. Victory Drive. The players will speak to and run drills with the UYA Summer Camp athletes from 10:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to that night's 7:10 p.m. contest vs. the Cincinnati Reds. <o:p>

Beginning this Friday, the Astros Foundation will be raffling off a 2016 Harley Davidson Sportster, donated by Crane Freight Services. Proceeds will benefit the Sunshine Kids Foundation, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance, Ronald McDonald House Houston and the Astros Foundation. Tickets will be sold during every Friday, Saturday and Sunday home game now through September 11 on the main concourse behind home plate. Tickets are one (1) for $20 or six (6) for $100. The winner will be announced at the game on Monday, September 12 vs. the Texas Rangers (winner need not be present to win).<o:p>

Faith and Family Night, presented by Chick-fil-A, is back this Saturday, June 18! The popular event will feature a postgame concert by Brandon Heath and faith testimonies from Colby Rasmus and his wife Megan. A game ticket for the June 18 afternoon contest between the Astros and Cincinnati Reds at 3:10 p.m. also serves as the ticket to the postgame Faith and Family presentation and concert. Seating for the event is general admission and the concert will take place on the third base side warning track. <o:p>

A limited number of tickets are still available for the Astros Foundation's fourth annual Picnic In The Park fundraising event, presented by Wells Fargo, on Sunday, Father's Day, June 19. This popular fundraiser, which gives fans the rare opportunity to spend an afternoon on the outfield grass at Minute Maid Park, will feature 2016 Astros players, alumni, Orbit, the Shooting Stars and members of the Astros front office. All proceeds from the charitable event will benefit the Astros Foundation and its cornerstone youth baseball programs. Tickets are on sale now but have been going quickly, so fans are encouraged to reserve their tickets as soon as possible.<o:p>

Fans will once again be treated to an hour-long autograph session with Astros players, a picnic buffet, activities for families and children of all ages, a complimentary picnic mat, commemorative T-shirt and Astros logo baseball. This year, fans have the option to choose between two ticket packages. The On Deck Package includes admission to Picnic In The Park, a ticket to the Astros 1:10 p.m. game vs. the Cincinnati Reds, buffet lunch, picnic mat, Picnic In The Park T-shirt and an Astros logo baseball. The Home Run Express Package includes everything from the On Deck Package as well as an exclusive buffet area, Autograph Fast Pass for first-in-line privileges a Picnic In The Park soft cooler and a special reception in the Diamond Club following the game, prior to the start of Picnic In The Park. <o:p>

Picnic In The Park begins approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of Sunday's 1:10 p.m. game. Children two years of age or younger are admitted free with a ticketed adult. Youth tickets are available for fans 3-14 years old, and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Fans 15 years of age or older require an adult ticket. All tickets must be purchased in advance and are limited in availability, so fans are encouraged to purchase their Picnic In The Park tickets early.<o:p>

Please note that Kids Run the Bases will not take place postgame. The Astros are happy to offer Kids Run the Bases after every Sunday afternoon game as part of Kroger Family Sundays and look forward to its return on July 2. <o:p>

The Astros take on the AL West rival LA Angels of Anaheim for a three-game set, beginning Monday, June 20. First pitch on Monday and Tuesday is set for 7:10 p.m., with Wednesday's match scheduled for a 1:10 p.m. start. Houston currently stands 2.5 games ahead of LA in the AL West Division. <o:p>

On Tuesday, June 21, LHP Dallas Keuchel, OF Jake Marisnick, the Astros athletic staff and the Taylor Hooten Foundation will host a PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) clinic for members of the Astros Community Leaders program at Minute Maid Park from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Created in 2004 by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS), the PLAY campaign was formed to raise awareness about children's health issues and the obesity epidemic in the United States. PLAY has conducted more than 200 events inside all 30 Major League ballparks, reaching tens of thousands of America's young people with positive messages about making healthy decisions and living a more active and healthy lifestyle. The PLAY campaign is made possible by the generous support and participation of Major League Baseball Charities, the Taylor Hooton Foundation and the Henry Schein Cares Foundation.<o:p>

HomeAid Houston's Project Playhouse will be on display at Minute Maid Park at the top of section 150 until Wednesday, June 22. The "Pixel Playhouse" built by M/I Homes, features air conditioning, a plasma TV, iPad and more. Raffle tickets for a chance to win the playhouse will be on sale at the same location. This is the 10th season that the Houston Astros and HomeAid Houston have partnered for Project Playhouse. Money raised from Project Playhouse furthers HomeAid's mission to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through construction and community outreach. <o:p>
