Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finished a triple shy of the cycle in his first-career four-hit game, though his big game was ultimately spoiled as Rookie-level Bluefield's bullpen allowed eight runs over the final two innings to fall to Princeton, 10-6
The Blue Jays' No. 5 prospect -- and son of renowned Major Leaguer Vladimir Guerrero -- ripped a double to left field in his first at-bat before adding a single in his subsequent trip to the plate in the bottom of the third inning.
In the fifth, Guerrero Jr., 17, connected on his third home run of the season, a two-run shot over the left-field fence, giving him three-quarters of the cycle through his first three at-bats.
Needing only a triple to accomplish the feat, Guerrero Jr. picked up his second double -- this time hitting it to right field -- in the seventh inning, but he flew out to center field in Bluefield's final at-bat to finish the game 4-for-5.
Signed for $3.9 million last July, Guerrero Jr. is hitting .260/.353/.479 with 19 RBIs through 19 games for Bluefield in his first professional campaign.

• The home runs keep coming for No. 3 overall prospect J.P. Crawford. The Phillies' No. 1 prospect went deep on Thursday for the third time in seven games en route to going 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a win over Buffalo. After a slow start in the International League, Crawford, 21, is hitting an even .500 (15-for-30) with six extra-base hits and eight RBIs during his current seven-game hitting streak.

• No. 40 overall prospect David Dahl enjoyed his third career two-homer game and added an RBI triple as part of a 3-for-5 night at the plate in Triple-A Albuquerque's win over Memphis. The Rockies' No. 2 prospect has gone deep four times in seven games since being promoted to Albuquerque, and he's hitting .516 with 16 hits in that span. Meanwhile, with his pair of solo shots Thursday, the 22-year-old outfielder has now homered 17 homers in 83 games for the season between the Double- and Triple-A levels. Tom Murphy (Rockies' No. 9) also had a game to remember for the Isotopes, as he legged out an eighth-inning triple to hit for the cycle. The 25-year-old catcher has multiple hits in seven straight games and is batting a robust .750 (18-for-24) with five home runs, three doubles, two triples and 11 RBIs in that span.

• No. 68 overall prospect Erick Fedde fired six scoreless innings for Class A Advanced Potomac in a loss against Winston-Salem. The Nationals' No. 4 prospect scattered four hits while walking one and striking out five, with 56 of his 89 pitches going for strikes in the outing. The 23-year-old right-hander is 3-0 with a 0.84 ERA over his last six starts for the P-Nats, during which he's scattered 22 hits while racking up 29 strikeouts against six walks in 32 innings.
• In his second four-hit game of the season, No. 72 overall prospect Christian Arroyo went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored as Double-A Richmond fell to Bowie, 4-3. The Giants' No. 1 prospect has 27 two-baggers in 82 games to go along with a solid .284/.322/.392 slash line this season in his first taste of the Double-A level.
• Rays No. 6 prospectTaylor Guerrieri completed seven innings for the third time in four starts to pace Double-A Montgomery in a win over Tennessee. The 2011 first-rounder scattered five hits and struck out three over seven scoreless innings, throwing 65 of his 101 pitches for strikes in the outing.
• White Sox No. 6 prospect Jordan Guerrero hurled six scoreless frames for Double-A Birmingham but received a no-decision after Biloxi came through with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth. The 22-year-old lefty, who had allowed 10 earned runs between his previous two starts, permitted four hits, walked two and fanned five.
• After suiting up for the World squad in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, Indians No. 8 prospect Francisco Mejia returned to Class A Advanced Lynchburg on Wednesday -- only to have the game suspended after his first at-bat. When it resumed Thursday, the 20-year-old backstop delivered a sixth-inning single to extend his hitting streak to 34 games, the longest in the Minor Leagues since 2011. Mejia has posted a .390 average with 53 hits during his streak, which began on May 27.

• In a rehab assignment for Class A Advanced Bradenton, Pirates No. 8 prospectElias Díaz went 3-for-4 with his first home run of 2016 and four RBIs to help the Marauders defeat Dunedin, 10-7. The 25-year-old catcher began the season on the disabled list as he recovered from a debridement procedure on his right elbow.
• Tigers No. 9 prospect Joe Jimenez locked down his 18th save in 18 tries as Double-A Erie edged Akron, 5-3. The 21-year-old right-hander has posted a stellar 0.80 ERA and 0.74 WHIP over 33 appearances this season between the Class A Advanced and Double-A levels. Furthermore, he's punched out 57 hitters in 33 2/3 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .125 average.
• Reds No. 10 prospect Phil Ervin collected three extra-base hits as he went 3-for-5 with a two solo home runs and a double to pace Double-A Pensacola in a shutout of Jacksonville. The 2013 first-rounder has 27 extra-base hits including nine home runs to go along with 26 stolen bases this season, although he's hitting just .237 through 77 games overall.

• With seven strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings for Class A Peoria, Cardinals No. 19 prospect Sandy Alcantara now leads all Minor League hurlers with 114 strikeouts through 84 1/3 innings (12.2 K/9). The hard-throwing 20-year-old allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks in the outing, ultimately finishing one out short of recording his second career complete game.
• Twins No. 28 prospect Lachlan Wells turned in his best performance of the season in Class A Cedar Rapid's win over Lake County. The 19-year-old lefty set season highs by fanning eight hitters over six scoreless innings, with four hits and zero walks allowed. All together, Wells owns a 1.27 ERA through his first four starts for the Kernels.
