Vote Cabrera, Vote Fielder to All-Star Game

Vote now at tigers.com and send the Old English D to KC

The 83rd Midsummer Classic is less than a month away, but Tigers fans still have time to send Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and all their favorite Tigers players to Kansas City to represent the Tigers in the All-Star Game on July 10. Fans can vote at Comerica Park until June 21 or at tigers.com until June 28.

Miguel Cabrera is putting together a characteristically strong season, ranking among the American League leaders in batting average, hits, doubles, home runs and RBI. He ranked second among American League third basemen in the latest voting results as he hopes to become the first Tigers third baseman to start the All-Star Game since Ray Boone did so in 1954. It would be Cabrera's seventh career All-Star Game and his third since joining the Tigers.

Fielder has ranked among the American League leaders in batting average, hits and RBI all season long while batting cleanup in his first season with the Tigers. His success at the plate was reflected in the latest voting results as he was leading the balloting among American League first basemen, but he still needs more support to send him to represent the Tigers in Kansas City. It would be Fielder's fourth career All-Star Game and first as part of the American League.

The 2012 All-Star Game will be played at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday, July 10th.  The 83rd All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 200 countries via MLB International's independent feed.  Pregame ceremonies will begin at 7:30 p.m. (EDT)/6:30 p.m. (CDT).  ESPN Radio and ESPN Radio Deportes will provide exclusive national radio coverage of the All-Star Game.  MLB Network, MLB.com and Sirius XM also will provide comprehensive All-Star Week coverage.  For more information, please visit allstargame.com or royals.com/asg.
