Highlighting the players listed on the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot are a pair of Cardinals veterans seeking to become eight-time All-Stars. Catcher Yadier Molina has been named to the National League roster each of the last seven seasons, while left fielder Matt Holliday has earned seven All-Star invites over the last decade.
The full ballot was released on Sunday and also includes past All-Star invitees Matt Carpenter and Brandon Moss, who is listed at first base ahead of Matt Adams. This summer's All-Star Game will be played at Petco Park in San Diego on Tuesday, July 12.

Molina, whose defensive prowess has made him a perennial All-Star, has had the sort of offensive start that makes him worthy of strong consideration again this year. Through his first 17 games, Molina hit .344/.412/.459. If Molina were to win the fan vote, he would join Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith (12) and former teammate Albert Pujols (five) as the only players in Cardinals history to receive at least five fan-elected starts.

Browsing the ballot
The other side: Outfielder/designated hitter Mark Trumbo is making an early case to warrant his second career All-Star invite. The first-year Oriole hit five home runs and drove in 11 over his first 10 games. Through 16 games, Trumbo had posted a .381/.418/.667 slash line and 1.085 OPS.
Tip of the cap: He may not have been the Cubs' most prominent offseason signing, but Dexter Fowler has ignited their offense so far. Fowler, who signed in late February, hit .385/.506/.692 over his first 18 games and led all NL players with a 219 OPS+ during that span. He has never been named to an All-Star team before.
A rising star: Rockies shortstop Trevor Story took the Majors by storm this month, blasting seven home runs in his first six games to break an MLB record previously shared by Willie Mays, Mike Schimdt and Larry Walker. Through his first 70 at-bats, the 23-year-old rookie had 13 extra-base hits, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
