Pipeline Preview: Buehler makes next start

April 11th, 2018

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: No. 13 overall Bo Bichette (Blue Jays' No. 2), New Hampshire vs. Trenton (7 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Bichette has raked at every level he's been at, and Double-A appears to be no different. After hitting .362 in 110 games across two levels in 2017, Bichette entered 2018 with everyone curious about how he'd follow it up, and the early returns seem to be promising. The 20-year-old is batting .393 through six games and has two or more hits in five straight contests.

Pitcher to watch: No. 12 overall (Dodgers' No. 1), Oklahoma City vs. Round Rock (8:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Buehler will be looking to build off his season-opening performance, during which he threw well but received a no-decision. The right-hander notched five strikeouts and gave up one run on three hits against Iowa. Buehler threw 72 pitches, 45 of which were strikes.

Duel of the Day: No. 30 overall (Braves' No. 2) vs. (Brewers' No. 5), Mississippi vs. Biloxi (7:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
After putting up a string of zeros in his first start, Wright will be looking to do more of the same against Biloxi. The 22-year-old right-hander gave up three hits over 3 2/3 scoreless innings in his full-season debut. Wright threw 37 of his 65 pitches for strikes while walking three and striking out three.

Ortiz is back with Biloxi after spending parts of 2016 with the club and all of 2017 with the Shuckers as well. The 22-year-old posted a 4.01 ERA across 22 games (20 starts) a season ago and gave up two runs on five hits in five innings in his first start of 2018.
