Washington Nationals Homestand Highlights vs. Detroit Tigers

Nationals and The Washington Post team up for the "5 Series" promotion

During the upcoming homestand (May 7-12), The Washington Post will present the first "5 Series" promotion featuring special offers like $5 tickets, $5 beer and more. The "5 Series" will be available during five different Nationals series throughout the season and will feature special concession coupons that can only be found in The Washington Post. Nationals fans can pick up the Thursday, May 9 edition of The Washington Post for details, coupons and a collectable Bryce Harper image. Some restrictions apply, while supplies last.

 

Tuesday, May 7

·          MLB Network Backpack Giveaway: The first 25,000 fans to enter Nationals Park through Center Field Gate will receive an MLB Network backpack.          

 

Wednesday, May 8

·          U.S. Marines Day presented by Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation:  As one of the five Military Branch Days this season, the Nationals will honor the United States Marine Corps by featuring service members throughout the pregame ceremonies:

o    Ceremonial First Pitch thrown by Lieutenant General Willie J. Williams, Director, Marine Corps Staff

o    National Anthem will be performed by the Quantico Marine Corps Band

o    Lineup Card Delivery by Staff Sergeant Jeremiah Workman

o    Game Ball Delivery by Sergeant Major Craig D. Cressman, Henderson Hall, HQMC & Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Director of Marine Corps Staff

o    Play Ball announcement by Sergeant Major Joseph VanFonda

o    God Bless America will be performed by Lieutenant Colonel Rose-Ann Lynch

o    Margaret B. Davis, President and CEO of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, will present scholarships to Charity and Haven VanFonda and to Devon Workman

 

·          $1 Hot Dog Night Presented by Hatfield: Nationals fans will have the opportunity to purchase hot dogs for just $1 at participating concessions stands until the start of the sixth inning or while supplies last. Some restrictions apply.

·          Radio Broadcast Change: Because of the Capitals playoff game, the Nationals-Tigers radio broadcast will air on WNEW 99.1 FM.
