Weather postpones Cubs-Rockies at Coors

Split doubleheader set for Tuesday; first game at 12:10 p.m. MT

May 9th, 2017

DENVER -- Monday night's Rockies-Cubs game at Coors Field was postponed after a 1-hour, 16-minute rain delay after an afternoon hailstorm, followed by rain. The game was rescheduled for 12:10 p.m. MT Tuesday as part of a split doubleheader, with a regularly scheduled game at 6:40.
The inclement weather stopped the Rockies from being able to capitalize on a Cubs team that may have been tired after an 18-inning, 5-4 loss to the Yankees at Wrigley Field on Sunday that had the Cubs rolling into the Mile High City sometime around 5 a.m. However, the Rockies also benefitted from the rainout.
Because rain hit before batting practice was scheduled to begin, their scheduled starter -- rookie right-hander (4-1, 2.84 ERA), who had ranged from solid to spectacular in his first six Major League starts -- was not burned, either by warming up and not pitching or by having an outing shortened by a game full of stops and starts.
Instead, Senzatela will face the Cubs' (4-1, 4.63), who would have started Monday, in the first game Tuesday. The second-game matchup will be Cubs righty (2-3, 5.14) against rookie lefty (3-1, 2.65).
According to official information from the Rockies, separate tickets will be required for each game. Parking lots will open at 9:30 a.m. and gates will open at 10:30. Tickets from the May 8 game are valid for the May 9, 12:10 p.m. game only. Exchanges for the May 8 game can be made for any game the rest of the regular season, value for value, best available seating, but exchanges must be made by May 31. Limits may apply.
The club says complimentary tickets have a value of zero dollars and therefore may not be exchanged. Discounted tickets may be exchanged only for the price paid to the Rockies and are subject to constraints applicable to the original sale. There are no cash refunds. Ticket exchanges will be accepted at the Coors Field Ticket Office and all Rockies Dugout Stores.
Tickets purchased via StubHub for the May 8 game are valid for the May 9, 12:10 p.m. game only. StubHub customers that can't attend the rescheduled game should contact customer service at StubHub. Also, StubHub tickets are not valid for exchange at Coors Field or the Rockies Dugout Stores.
