Weaver will return to face Dodgers on Wednesday

KANSAS CITY -- The Angels made the official announcement of Jered Weaver's return after Sunday's win against the Royals. Weaver will start on Wednesday against the Dodgers at Angel Stadium, with Jason Vargas moving back to Thursday.

Weaver has been out since April 8 with a fractured left elbow.

Vargas will be working on five days' rest with Weaver taking the Wednesday slot.

"I think it's a good place to put Weaver back," manager Mike Scioscia said. "It's not bad for these guys to get an extra day here or there."
