What to watch for in today's games
Mets look to take series in Bronx as they try for 13th win in 14 games
Major League Baseball hopes Mother Nature cooperates better on Sunday than Saturday, which saw multiple postponements and several delays due to rain.
The Subway Series continues in the Bronx, while the White Sox and Royals try once again to resume Friday's game, which was suspended because of rain.
Here's a few matchups and games to look forward to:
• Subway Series concludes: NYM @ NYY, 8:05 p.m. ET
The Yankees and Mets will play a rubber match to decide this series between crosstown rivals. The red-hot Mets, who have won 12 of their last 13 games, evened the series Saturday with an 8-2 win in the Bronx.
Jon Niese will start for the Mets in the finale. He was ejected from the dugout Friday night for arguing with home-plate umpire Doug Eddings about the strike zone. For the Yankees, Nathan Eovaldi takes the mound coming off his best outing in pinstripes. He limited Detroit to one run on eight hits and a walk over seven innings of work.
• Royals, White Sox resume: KC @ CHW, 2:10 p.m. ET
Rain engulfed the Windy City to open the weekend, first showing up in the sixth inning of Friday's game between the Royals and White Sox. The two teams managed to complete eight innings before play was suspended with the game tied at 2.
The two teams -- who were involved in a fracas Thursday -- try again Sunday after Saturday's postponement. Right-hander Edinson Volquez, who was ejected Thursday and given a five-game suspension pending an appeal, will start Sunday's regularly scheduled game for the Royals. Left-hander John Danks starts for Chicago.

• Indians try to break Tigers' hold: CLE @ DET, 1:08 p.m. ET
A trendy pick to win the American League Central -- and predicted by some to win the World Series -- the Indians have their work cut out for them in arguably baseball's toughest division. The Tigers, who have won four straight division titles, aren't ceding the AL Central yet. Detroit has taken four of five from Cleveland this year and the Tigers go for another series win against the Tribe behind Kyle Lobstein.
Carlos Carrasco takes the ball for the Indians, coming into the game 2-5 with a 6.86 ERA in 12 appearances (seven starts) against Detroit.
• National League West rivals clash in finale: LAD @ SD, 4:10 p.m. ET
The Dodgers and Padres, competing for control of the NL West, will wrap a three-game series in San Diego. Though the Padres presumably have the advantage in their home ballpark, Los Angeles leads the all-time series 53-49 at Petco Park since it opened its doors in 2004.

Brandon Morrow takes the ball for the Padres, making his fourth start. He's allowed seven runs over 20 innings this year but has yet to factor into a decision through three starts. And the revolving door that is the fifth spot in the Dodgers' rotation will feature Scott Baker, the third pitcher to hold down the role this season. Baker will make his Dodgers debut after tossing seven shutout innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.
• Lincecum looks to continue early-season success: SF @ COL, 4:10 p.m. ET
No one is expecting Tim Lincecum to regain his back-to-back Cy Young Award-winning stuff of a few years ago, but the Giants right-hander is off to a solid start in 2015. His worst outing came April 15 against the Rockies (three earned runs in five innings), who he faces again Sunday. This one is at Coors Field, where Lincecum has a 4.52 ERA in 14 career starts.
Young Tyler Matzek, who threw six innings of one-run ball against the Giants on April 15, gets the ball for Colorado.
