Topping today's list of games to watch on MLB.TV is a nightcap matchup between two young left-handers, Alex Wood and Steven Matz.
Wood was May's National League Pitcher of the Month, and in his second-to-last start of June, he'll continue making his case for back-to-back awards. This month, he's limited opposing batters to a .188 batting average, and with a 7-0 record on the year, Wood hasn't lost a game yet -- the only other starter without a loss is Dallas Keuchel, who is 9-0 -- and if he avoids the loss tonight, he'll tie a franchise record for most consecutive starts without one (Orel Hershiser had 11 during the 1985 season).
Hoping to ruin Wood's chances are the visiting Mets, led by Matz in his third game since his return from the disabled list. Matz has his own perfect record -- he's won both his starts at Dodger Stadium, with a 1.50 ERA and 13 strikeouts in Chavez Ravine. Matz will take the mound there at 10:10 p.m. ET.

Mountain men and the desert dwellers: ARI@COL, 3:10 p.m.
This matchup is the last in a three-game series between two of baseball's winningest clubs. In an increasingly competitive NL West, the D-backs will try to best the Rockies behind emergent rotation force Zack Godley (2-1, 2.34 ERA). Godley will duel against the Rockies' Antonio Senzatela (9-2, 4.10 ERA) at high-altitude Coors Field.

Back in the saddle: CHC@MIA, 7:10 p.m.
Both Jacob Arrieta and Jeff Locke look to turn the corner on a rough season. Locke's still searching for his first win as a Marlin after his 2017 debut on June 1, while Arrieta's trying to regain his World Series-champion form. So far this year, he's skidded to 6-5 with a 4.64 ERA in 14 starts.

Veterans seek victory: PIT@MIL, 2:10 p.m.
The NL Central foes are backed by a pair of underrated righties, Ivan Nova and Chase Anderson, who'll square off at Miller Park. Both carry respectable streaks into their starts tonight -- Anderson has reeled off five straight quality starts, and Nova isn't far behind with four. These two vets have each reestablished themselves in 2017 as solid front-end starters.

Severino's show: LAA@NYY, 7:05 p.m.
A year ago, no one would've suspected Luis Severino would be the ace of the Yankees' rotation, much less a regular on AL pitching leaderboards. But he's rebounded remarkably from a tough 2016, boasting a 2.99 ERA and 90 strikeouts this year. His opponent, the Angels' Jesse Chavez, has likewise become a dependable presence for an injury-riddled Halos staff.
