Team to watch
The Class A Advanced Modesto Nuts, last year's California League champions, will have a strong offense once again this year, headlined by Rizzo -- the Cal League finals MVP -- and Jimenez. Lewis will likely return to Modesto once healthy, too, and 2017 first-rounder White could see the bulk of his time there this year if all goes as expected. The Nuts should also feature one of the circuit's better bullpens thanks to the presence of '17 Draft picks Mills and Elledge.

New faces
Always looking to improve their Major League roster, the Mariners added a pair of pitching prospects to their system during the offseason in Rumbelow and Misiewicz. Rumbelow, acquired from the Yankees in November, remains sidelined with a nerve issue in his neck, but should report to Triple-A Tacoma once healthy. Misiewicz, meanwhile, will open the season in Double-A Arkansas' starting rotation after rejoining the organization that drafted him via a trade with Tampa Bay in December.
On the shelf
Lewis had his right knee scoped in February to address lingering pain stemming from his surgery to repair a torn ACL in July 2016. The Mariners are hopeful that Lewis, the club's first-round pick in '16, will be ready for game action in early May. White, their '17 first-rounder, is being held back in extended spring training with a minor groin injury, but he is expected to receive a full-season assignment in short order. Reliever Festa also will be kept behind in camp due to a hip/sciatic issue that has kept him off the mound this spring, and 2017 Arizona Fall League MVP Filia will miss the first 50 games of the season in the wake of his second positive for a drug of abuse in January.
