Team to watch
A total of 10 of the Tigers' Top 30 will suit up for the Lakeland Flying Tigers to start 2016, and that number will jump to 11 when Spencer Turnbull returns from the disabled list. The list includes four members of Detroit's 2015 Draft class, led by first-round pick Christin Stewart. Several others, headlined by Mike Gerber, were a part of the West Michigan team that won the Midwest League title in 2015.

New faces
Myles Jaye just joined the organization in the Bryan Holaday deal. He should be ready to help out the big league club at some point this season, either as a starter or perhaps a middle-relief type.
On the shelf
A few of the Tigers' better pitching prospects are beginning the year on the disabled list. Kevin Ziomek, 2015 draftee Drew Smith and reliever Montreal Robertson are dealing with shoulder issues. Ziomek and Robertson will head to Double-A when healthy, while Smith will begin his first full season with Class A West Michigan.
