White Sox announce additional 2016 promotional dates

Updated schedule features new promotional nights, giveaways

The Chicago White Sox released additional promotional dates for games at U.S. Cellular Field in 2016.


The Chicago White Sox released additional promotional dates for games at U.S. Cellular Field in 2016.


New highlights among the additional promotions are Grateful Dead Night (Tuesday, July 5 vs. the New York Yankees), which coincides with the one-year anniversary of the original band members' reunion performance celebrating their 50th anniversary at Soldier Field last summer. This promotion is a first for the White Sox schedule as well as Halfway to Mardi Gras (Tuesday, August 23 vs. Philadelphia). Both promotions join the following fan-favorite promotions:

  • Mullet Night and Fireworks, presented by Great Clips (Friday, June 24 vs. Toronto)

  • Country Music Night and Fireworks (Friday, July 8 vs. Atlanta)

  • Christmas in July and Fireworks (Friday, July 22 vs. Detroit)

  • Bark at the Park, presented by AvoDerm Natural Pet Foods and Nylabone (Tuesday, September 13 vs. Cleveland)

The most up-to-date promotional schedule features special giveaways:

  • Southpaw's Birthday and Oversized Trading Card featuring Southpaw, presented by Topps: The White Sox invite all fans to celebrate Southpaw with this Southpaw trading card. (Sunday, June 12 vs. Kansas City)

  • Water Bottle, presented by Village of Bedford Park: The first 15,000 fans will receive a White Sox water bottle. (Sunday, August 7 vs. Baltimore)

  • Police and Fire Night and Free T-Shirt Thursday, presented by UL: Join the White Sox in honoring Chicago's bravest and finest at the ballpark. The first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark will receive a free T-shirt. (Thursday, August 25 vs. Seattle)

  • Southpaw Star Wars Bobblehead: The force is strong with the first 10,000 fans, who will receive this commemorative bobblehead. (Saturday, August 27 vs. Seattle)

These dates join the previously announced list of dates that includes "Free T-Shirt Thursdays" - allowing the first 10,000 fans to take home a specially designed T-shirt for each of the nine Thursday games throughout the season - among others. Additional events, theme nights and giveaways will be added and announced as Opening Day approaches. The promotional schedule can be found at

Individual game tickets to 2016 White Sox home games at U.S. Cellular Field go on sale to the general public on at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 4, on, at the U.S. Cellular Field Box Office or by calling 866-SOX-GAME.
