White Sox announce Minor League Players of the Month

Class A Kannapolis outfielder Micker Adolfo and Class AA Birmingham left-hander Jordan Guerrero have been named the Chicago White Sox Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for June as voted by a panel of Chicago-area media members.

Class A Kannapolis outfielder Micker Adolfo and Class AA Birmingham left-hander Jordan Guerrero have been named the Chicago White Sox Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for June as voted by a panel of Chicago-area media members.
Adolfo, 20, batted .267 (27-101) with eight doubles, eight home runs, 20 RBI and 20 runs scored over 26 games in June to earn his second consecutive White Sox Minor League Player of the Month award. He compiled a 19-game on-base streak from June 6-26 (.311, 23-74).
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Adolfo is hitting .279 (74-265) with 24 doubles, one triple, 10 homers, 42 RBI and 41 runs scored over 68 games this season, his fourth in the White Sox organization after signing as an international free agent on July 2, 2013. Adolfo is tied for the South Atlantic League lead in doubles, ranks second in extra-base hits (35) and fourth in total bases (130).
Guerrero, 23, went 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA (5 ER/36.2 IP), 26 strikeouts, one shutout and a .195 (25-128) opponents average over five starts in May. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Guerrero has allowed two runs or less in each of his last six starts while tossing at least 6.0 IP in five. 
Guerrero, a 2017 midseason Southern League All-Star, was named SL Pitcher of the Week for the period of June 12-18. He threw a two-hit, complete-game shutout (9.0 IP), the first of his career, on 6/13 vs. Mobile.
Guerrero has gone 4-7 with a 3.51 ERA (36 ER/92.1 IP), 100 strikeouts and a .253 (87-344) opponents average over 15 starts this season, his sixth in the Sox organization after being selected by Chicago in 15th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft. He leads the Southern League in strikeouts, ranks third strikeouts per 9.0 IP (9.8) and fourth in IP.
