White Sox announce upcoming homestand activities

WHAT: Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for this upcoming weekend's series vs. Kansas City and next week's series vs. Detroit.  Tickets are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field Ticket Office and all Ticketmaster locations.

The games on Friday, Sunday and Monday will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, while WGN-TV will air the games on Saturday and Tuesday.  All five games will be broadcast on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

National Anthem by Kaneland High School Madrigals
Ceremonial first pitch by Tyler Clutts, Chicago Bears
Tyler Clutts, Chicago Bears fullback, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Kaneland High School Madrigals will perform the National Anthem.

After the game, fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show set to country crossover music.

Saturday, May 12, 6:10 p.m. vs. Kansas City
Mother-Son Night and Fireworks presented by Magellan Corporation
National Anthem by Gina Glocksen, former American Idol contestant
Gina Glocksen, Chicago native and former American Idol contestant, will perform the National Anthem.

To celebrate Mother-Son Night, specially-priced tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased at www.whitesox.com/mom.  Tickets normally priced at $44, $40, $38, $26 and $18 are available for $34, $30, $28, $13 and $9.  Fans also have the option to add a complimentary parade pass to their online ticket orders, providing the opportunity to walk around the field before the game (weather permitting).  Parade passes are limited to the first 1,800 people, and participants must be at Gate 1 no later than 5:15 p.m.

Mother-Son Night activities include complimentary massages and manicures at sections 159 and 535, caricatures at section 154 and face painting at section 536.

After the game, fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show, courtesy of Magellan Corporation.

1972 Throwback Sunday
Jonalee White and The Late Nite Drivers, national recording artists, will perform an acoustic set on-field before the National Anthem, as well as God Bless America later in the evening.

The first 10,000 ladies age 14 and over in attendance will receive a Mother's Day tote.

Cori Cammarano, Aurora resident and breast cancer survivor, has been selected as the 2012 Honorary Bat Girl winner for the White Sox. She will take part in pre-game activities and be honored on-field, in addition to receiving pink Major League Baseball merchandise and two tickets to the game.

In celebration of Mother's Day, complimentary massages will be available at sections 159 and 535.  Before the game, Weber Band will perform acoustic rock music outside Gate 5 and Five Guys Named Moe will perform outside Gate 4.

The game also marks the third throwback Sunday, where the White Sox wear red pinstriped throwback uniforms and red Sox caps, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1972 White Sox team.  The White Sox will wear the throwback uniforms during every Sunday home game this season.

National Anthem by the Cast of Porchlight Music Theatre's "tick...tick...BOOM!"
Ceremonial first pitch by Lance Louis, Chicago Bears
Lance Louis, Chicago Bears offensive lineman, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Porchlight Music Theatre's cast of "tick...tick...BOOM!" will perform the National Anthem.  The show is playing at Stage 773 through June 10.

Tuesday, May 15, 1:10 p.m. vs. Detroit
Weather Day with Tom Skilling presented by WGN
National Anthem by the full cast of "Jersey Boys"
Ceremonial first pitch by Tommy Zangrilli, former U.S. Marine 2nd Vietnam Veteran
Tommy Zangrilli, a former U.S. Marine from Berwyn, Ill. who served three tours in Vietnam, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

The cast of "Jersey Boys" will perform the National Anthem.  The show is playing at Bank of America Theatre through June 2.

In celebration of Weather Day, specially-priced tickets for Tuesday's game can be purchased at whitesox.com/wgn.  Tickets normally priced at $40, $36, $34, $22 and $14 are available for $20, $18, $17, $11 and $7.

Fans who take advantage of this online ticket offer are able to enter the ballpark early to view a special on-field presentation hosted by WGN Chief Meteorologist Tom Skilling from 10:30 a.m-11:15 a.m. followed by 10-15 minutes of Q&A.  Fans interested in attending should be at Gate 5 no later than 10:15 a.m.
