White Sox announce upcoming homestand events

The Chicago White Sox announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Minnesota and Detroit.

The Chicago White Sox announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Minnesota and Detroit. 
The homestand will feature a single-admission doubleheader on Monday, August 21, beginning at 4:10 p.m. CT, the makeup of a postponed game due to rain on May 10. Monday's originally scheduled contest will begin at 7:10 p.m. CT, or 30 minutes following the conclusion of the opener but no sooner than the scheduled start time. Parking lots will open at 2:10 p.m., and gates to the ballpark opening at 3 p.m.

Theme Nights and Promotions
The White Sox invite fans to Beatles Night at Guaranteed Rate Field on Monday, August 21. This new promotion pays tribute to the beloved English band's impact on music history and their loyal fan base. Entertainment includes in-game performances by Beatles tribute band American English, and Gate 4 music by Beatles ukulele cover band the Beatleleles, a Beatles-themed Party Shop in Section 159 and music by the legendary band played throughout the evening. The first 1,000 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/Beatles will receive a voucher for a Beatles-White Sox hat.
In celebration of Blackhawks Night, Blackhawks Coach Joel Quenneville will throw a ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday, August 23. Blackhawks Anthemist Jim Cornelison will kick off the game by performing the National Anthem.  Specially priced tickets will be available to all Chicago Blackhawks season ticket holders, group leaders, employees and fans. Fans that purchase tickets at whitesox.com/Blackhawks will have the opportunity to enter the ballpark early to watch White Sox batting practice. In addition, the first 1,000 tickets purchased through the special link will include a voucher for a White Sox-Blackhawks winter beanie.
Fans are invited to enjoy the baseball tradition of having a hot dog while cheering on the White Sox during $1 Hot Dog Wednesday on August 23. The popular large and juicy Vienna Beef premium hot dogs will be available for $1 at Guaranteed Rate Field's concession stands on the 100 and 500-level concourses and in-seat vending as well as club level concessions. There will be a limit of four per person per concession visit, while supplies last. The $1 Hot Dog Wednesdays promotion excludes Comiskey Dogs, a specialty Chicago-style hot dog.
The Chicago Sports Depot will hold its End of Year Garage Sale from Thursday, August 24, through Sunday, August 27. Fans can visit the Depot through the entrance near Gate 5 to purchase discounted White Sox merchandise and apparel. The sale will open at 3 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
The White Sox invite fans to celebrate Players Weekend at Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday, August 25, through Sunday, August 27. The inaugural event is designed to allow Major Leaguers to let their personalities and passions shine. The player-focused event will include players wearing nicknames on the back of their colorful, non-traditional uniforms featuring alternate designs inspired by youth league uniforms. Players also have the option of wearing T-shirts highlighting a charity or cause of their choice during pregame workouts and postgame interviews. Select White Sox Players Weekend jerseys will be available for purchase at the Chicago Sports Depot and at in-park shops.
The White Sox will celebrate Elvis Night and Fireworks, presented by Old Dominion Freight Line, on Friday, August 25. Entertainment includes a postgame show featuring Elvis tribute artist Doug Church, Frog X parachuters, the Mystique Production showgirls and fireworks set to the King's greatest hits. Fans can visit the Elvis Party Shop in Section 159 for special merchandise. Photo opportunities also are available with an Elvis shrine on the 100-level concourse behind home plate. The XFINITY Zone will offer fans a peanut butter and banana sandwich in honor of the King.
The Chicago White Sox will hold Star Wars Night on Saturday, August 26. Fans are encouraged to dress in Star Wars attire. Entertainment includes Star Wars graphics and music throughout the game along with various characters from the series roaming the concourse. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game for a fireworks display, presented by the Magellan Corporation. The XFINITY Zone will offer fans a special sandwich inspired by Chewbacca.
The White Sox invite yoga enthusiasts of all skill levels to take part in a pregame yoga class at the ballpark during Yoga Day on Sunday, August 27. The hour-long class will begin at 12:10 p.m. and will take place in the Upper Terrace suite, which is accessible through Gate 6. A limited number of ticket packages, which include the yoga class and game admission, remain availableat whitesox.com/Yoga.
Family Sunday, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place on Sunday, August 27. The game will include kid-friendly activities such as children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloon artists and a caricature artist. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kid's menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays. Children's Autograph Session will take place on Sunday, August 27, inviting kids to receive autographs from current White Sox players. The first 100 kids (ages 13 and under) to enter the ballpark through the Chicago Sports Depot entrance (located near parking Lot B and Gate 5) at 11:15 a.m. will be given a wristband and be directed to a special area for the autograph session. Giveaways
The first 10,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Thursday, August 24, will receive a Dick Allen-themed White Sox T-shirt, presented by the Village of Bedford Park as part of Free T-Shirt Thursdays. Tickets and information on upcoming T-shirt designs is available at whitesox.com/Thursdays.
The first 15,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Saturday, August 26, will receive a White Sox Stormtrooper Bobblehead.
