White Sox announce upcoming series activities

Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming home series vs. Minnesota. Tickets for all three games of the home series are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

Throughout the month of September, the White Sox are honoring captain Paul Konerko with special fan giveaways for each of the month's 11 home games. The month-long celebration includes the creation of "Club Konerko" in Sections 158 and 159 (total of 1,176 seats). Fans who purchase tickets in one of the two designated sections during the month of September will receive a Paul Konerko-themed collectible and "Thank You, Paulie" sign. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Paul Konerko game-worn uniform baseball card on September 13. The full list of "Club Konerko" giveaways is available at whitesox.com/Konerko.

Friday's game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Plus. Saturday's game will be televised on WGN, while Comcast SportsNet broadcasts Sunday's game. All games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

Fans are invited to celebrate Halfway to St. Patrick's Day with a pregame performance by the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance at Gate 4, an on-field acoustic set by the Three Men in Kilts and post-game fireworks set to an Irish soundtrack. The White Sox will wear green pinstripe uniforms. A pregame parade will include the bagpipes and drums of the Emerald Society, the St. Patrick's Day parade queen and her court and the Trinity Irish Dancers. The first 20,000 fans ages 21 years and older will receive a White Sox Irish flat cap, presented by Miller Lite.

Friday's Club Konerko giveaway is an special green PK14 golf towel. Fans with tickets in Sections 158 and 159 (total of 1,176 seats) can pick up their collectible item at the Chicago Sports Depot before the game.

Lauren Cantinella, St. Patrick's Day parade queen, will throw a ceremonial first pitch in honor of Halfway to St. Patrick's Day Celebration.

The White Sox honor captain Paul Konerko on Saturday with a special "Piece of Paul" baseball card giveaway. The first 20,000 fans will receive the special trading card with a piece of a game-worn Paul Konerko uniformed, presented by Wintrust Community Banks.

Tony Snell, Chicago Bulls guard, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The 2013 first-round pick appeared in 77 games as a rookie, averaging 16 minutes and 4.5 points per game. As a member of the 2014 All-NBA Summer League First Team, he averaged 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the 3-point range.

Family Sunday, presented by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital, includes free pregame autograph sessions (kids only) and postgame kids run the bases. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in Lower Level, with $10 parking. Additional entertainment includes face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist, magnet art and photo opportunities with the White Sox Broadcast Dashers.

Sean Hession, CEO/president of the Illinois Credit Union System, will perform the National Anthem. Hession is a former principle first tenor and tenor soloist for the National Men's Chorus in Washington, D.C.

Richard Dotson, former White Sox pitcher, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Dotson spent 10 seasons with the White Sox, including the 1983 "Winning Ugly" season that brought home the Western Division Championship by 20 games. He won 22 games during the 1983 season, which were the second-most in the league. Dotson, the present Charlotte Knights pitching coach will be signing autographs in Section 135 from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
