Fan taken to hospital after slip, fall

CHICAGO -- The first pitch of Friday's series opener between the White Sox and Twins at U.S. Cellular Field was briefly delayed as medical personnel attended to a fan behind the home dugout.

"A fan appeared to slip and fall before the start of tonight's game," the White Sox said in a statement. "The fan was conscious and transported to the hospital for further evaluation."

For the safety of the injured fan and medical staff attending to her near the third-base camera well, the start of the game was delayed a few minutes while she was taken off by stretcher. No additional information was available.
