White Sox offer fans at today's game a free ticket to an April home game in 2014

CHICAGO - Due to extended rain delay, the Chicago White Sox are offering fans with tickets to today's game a complimentary ticket to a home game in April of 2014, excluding Opening Day and the series vs. the Boston Red Sox (April 15-17).

"From a competitive balance standpoint and where the standings are right now, it was important for baseball that we played today's game," said Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We appreciate the patience of our fans, and the offer of a free ticket to a game next April is the least we could do after they waited out the long delay."

Once 2014 tickets go on sale, fans simply need to bring their ticket stub or mail it to the U.S. Cellular Field Ticket Office (333 W. 35th Street, Chicago, IL., 60616) where it will be redeemed for a best available outfield reserved or upper level seat to one of 12 games of the fan's choice. Those games include series against division rivals Minnesota (April 2-3), Cleveland (April 10-13), and Detroit (April 29-30), and the Tampa Bay Rays from the A.L. East (April 25-28).

The entire 2014 White Sox schedule is now available at whitesox.com.
