White Sox Option Dylan Axelrod to Class AA Birmingham

BALTIMORE – Following tonight’s game at Baltimore, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod to Class AA Birmingham. 

Axelrod, 27, earned the victory tonight against the Orioles, allowing one run on three hits over a career-high 7.1 IP.  He retired 13 consecutive batters in one stretch. 

Axelrod is 2-2 with a 4.93 ERA (25 ER/45.2 IP) in 11 games (seven starts) over three stints with the White Sox this season.

The Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow’s series finale in Baltimore.
