White Sox option Erik Johnson to Class AAA Charlotte

CHICAGO - Following tonight's game vs. Tampa Bay, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Erik Johnson to Class AAA Charlotte.

Johnson, 24, is 1-1 with a 6.46 ERA (17 ER/23.2 IP) in five starts this season, allowing 27 hits with 15 walks and 18 strikeouts. He posted a no decision in his last outing on Friday vs. Tampa Bay, giving up four runs over 1.2 IP.

The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow's game vs. the Rays.
