White Sox option Scott Carroll to Class AAA Charlotte

Following today's game vs. Toronto, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Scott Carroll to Class AAA Charlotte.

Carroll, 30, has gone 1-1 with a 3.28 ERA (9 ER/24.2 IP) in 12 relief appearances over two stints with the White Sox this season. He threw 2.2 scoreless IP in last night's victory over the Blue Jays.

The White Sox will make a corresponding move prior to tomorrow's series opener against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
