Rodon, two others on DL as Sox set roster

CHICAGO -- The White Sox finalized their Opening Day roster Sunday by placing left-handed starter (left biceps bursitis), reliever (right abdominal strain) and outfielder Charlie Tilson (stress reaction in right foot) on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to March 30.
Infielder , catcher and right-handed pitcher also had their contracts purchased by the team, giving the White Sox 12 pitchers, two catchers, eight infielders and three outfielders on their Opening Day roster. Their 40-man roster sits at 39.

"It means the world to me," said Swarzak, who will get a look at fifth starter along with in Rodon's absence. "Any time you get an opportunity to play on Opening Day in the Major Leagues, you cherish it. It's something very special.
"I really like it here, the group of guys here, the staff, the coaches. Everything seems to just fit me and my personality. I had a good spring, and now here I am."
Detroit and will face a White Sox Opening Day lineup Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field including center fielder , shortstop , catcher , second baseman and pitcher making their first Opening Day starts.
May, 25, will be making his Major League debut in the same contest.
"I'm excited," said the switch-hitting May after Sunday's workout. "It's a dream come true, so I'm just excited to be here, and hopefully help this team win a lot of games."
"You don't feel the cold weather or the rain," said White Sox third baseman of the Opening Day feeling combined with the feeling of a big league debut. "Then you get in the box. I remember my first at-bat, I thought I was walking on the moon. It was a crazy time for me."
