Prior to tonight's game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Charlie Tilson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring and recalled outfielder J.B. Shuck from Class AAA Charlotte.
Tilson, 23, suffered the injury last night during the fifth inning of his major-league debut while running down a fly ball in center field. He was recalled from Charlotte prior to the game and singled off Anibal Sanchez in his first at-bat.
Shuck, 29, was optioned to Charlotte on Monday to make room for Tilson. He is batting .218 (37-170) with three home runs, 13 RBI and 16 runs scored in 53 games over two previous stints with the White Sox this season. After being recalled from Charlotte on May 30, he started 44 of 54 games for the Sox before being optioned.
