White Sox Place Jake Petricka on 10-Day DL

Prior to tonight's game vs. Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Jake Petricka on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to September 5) with a right elbow strain and sent outfielder Willy García to Class A Kannapolis on a rehabilitation assignment.

Prior to tonight's game vs. Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Jake Petricka on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to September 5) with a right elbow strain and sent outfielder Willy García to Class A Kannapolis on a rehabilitation assignment.
Petricka, 29, is 1-1 with a 7.01 ERA (20 ER/25.2 IP), three holds and 26 strikeouts in 27 appearances with the White Sox in 2017. He also was on the disabled list from June 26-July 27 with a right elbow strain and April 5-June 8 with a right lat strain.      
García, 25, is hitting .258 (24-93) with five doubles, three triples, two home runs, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored in 40 games over two stints with the Sox this season. He has been on the disabled list since August 1 after suffering a concussion following a collision with Yoán Moncada on July 31 vs. Toronto.
