White Sox place Michael Ynoa on 10-day DL; recall Brad Goldberg from Charlotte

Prior to today's game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Michael Ynoa on the 10-day disabled list with a right hip flexor strain and recalled right-hander Brad Goldberg from Class AAA Charlotte.

DETROIT -- Prior to today's game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Michael Ynoa on the 10-day disabled list with a right hip flexor strain and recalled right-hander Brad Goldberg from Class AAA Charlotte.
Goldberg, 27, is 2-1 with a 1.99 ERA (5 ER/22.2 IP), four saves and 22 strikeouts over 17 relief appearances with Charlotte this season. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Goldberg has tossed 10.1 consecutive scoreless IP over his last eight outings, limiting opponents to a .167 (6-36) average with 11 strikeouts. He will wear uniform No. 67.
Goldberg, who has no major-league experience, appeared in two games with Israel in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, tossing 2.0 scoreless IP with two hits allowed, two walks and two strikeouts. He has gone 13-14 with a 3.31 ERA (91 ER/247.2 IP), 30 saves and 242 strikeouts in 154 career games (seven starts) over five minor-league seasons (2013-17) in the White Sox organization. Goldberg originally was selected by Chicago in the 13th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Ohio State University.
Ynoa, 25, is 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA (10 ER/20.2 IP), 19 strikeouts and a .225 (18-80) opponents average over 16 relief outings with the White Sox this season.
