Prior to today's game vs. Detroit, the Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Bruce Rondón from Class AAA Charlotte.

Prior to today's game vs. Detroit, the Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Bruce Rondón from Class AAA Charlotte.
Rondón, 27, takes the roster spot of right-hander Juan Minaya, who was optioned to Charlotte following yesterday's game. He threw 1.0 scoreless IP on April 5 at Durham in his only appearance with Charlotte this season.
Rondón, 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds, was signed by the White Sox as a minor-league free agent on January 31, 2018. He went 8-7 with a 5.00 ERA (62 ER/111.2 IP) and 133 strikeouts in 123 relief appearances over parts of four seasons with Detroit (2013, '15-17). Rondón made a career-high 37 relief appearances with the Tigers in 2016, going 5-2 with a 2.97 ERA (12 ER/36.1 IP) and 45 strikeouts.
The White Sox 40-man roster increases to 40.
