Jones to get back on the mound soon

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- As expected, Nate Jones returned to working out on Wednesday. The right-handed reliever and closer candidate had been shut down since the first day of camp because of a moderate left glute strain.

Manager Robin Ventura believes a return to the mound for Jones could come soon.

"He's getting a little better," said Ventura of Jones. "We are probably looking at having him start throwing in the next couple of days to be able to see how it feels. He's feeling much better and doing fine."
